“Everyone claims to be resilient; few can prove it,” London says. Certifications, tested controls, a track record of recovery and the ability to answer hard questions quickly are what separate winners from the rest.
Regulated markets reward the prepared
The most regulated, highest-value markets have the highest barriers — and reward operators who can meet and prove the standard. “The regulation competitors experience as a barrier is, for a well-run operator, a moat,” he says.
A message for the board
“Ask not only what a control costs,” London advises, “but what the ability to prove it wins you.” Treated as a growth strategy, he argues, resilience consistently pays for itself.
For infrastructure operators competing for global business, London's message is that the discipline they treat as a cost is, handled well, one of their strongest commercial assets.
